Overseas Pavilion
The technologies coming out of TRON Project have been picked up, studied, and deployed in many corners of the world.
Overseas Pavilion introduces some such activities.
The booth of IEEE Consumer Technology Society, the technical co-sponsor of 2022 TRON Symposium (TRONSHOW) along with IEEE itself is located here, also.
After two years of absence due to COVID-19, Republic Polytechnic (Singapore) and Custommedia (Malaysia) are the two overseas exhibitors this year. We show some video messages and posters about latest activities of other partners as well.
English-to-Japanese translators are available here. So please feel free to ask the booth attendants if you have questions.
IEEE / Consumer Technology Society
The real-time OS offerings from TRON Project such as ITRON specification OS, T-Kernel and its variants have been inside many consumer electronics products used worldwide for a couple of dozen years or so. The contribution of TRON Project has been well recognized. So, when the organizer of the TRON Symposium (TRONSHOW) approached CTSoc, it readily agreed to offer the technical co-sponsorship which is appreciated very much.
TRON Forum is pleased to introduce IEEE Consumer Technology Society to the TRON symposium (TRONSHOW) visitors.
(Quote from https://ctsoc.ieee.org/about.html)
The Consumer Technology Society (CTSoc) is an organization within the IEEE that strives for the advancement of the theory and practice of Electronic Engineering and of the allied arts and sciences with respect to the field of Consumer Electronics and the maintenance of a high professional standing among its members, which now number over 5000. The society has long been the premier technical association in the Consumer Electronics Industry. The CTSoc is truly international; its publications and presentations are authored by researchers from countries throughout the world. Activities of the CTSoc are directed by the society’s administrative committee (Board of Governors), whose members represent the technical and commercial breadth of the organization.
The scope of technologies embraced by the CTSoc, which was once limited to television, home hi-fi, and home appliances, has expanded to reflect the vast influence of modern electronics on consumer products. Indeed many emerging technologies in the field of consumer electronics are tied to the challenges being addressed by the CTSoc community, ranging from the devices and networks that facilitate electronic distribution of information to technologies that will make our lives safer and easier, such as intelligent automotive navigation and control systems.
Members of the society are interested in the consumer related aspects of leisure, video, and audio entertainment electronics; home information and communications systems; and interactive information and display systems. Products in these categories include video receivers, video signal generation, processing, and distribution equipment; projection TV; still and motion electronic cameras; HDTV and other advanced TV systems; personal computer hardware and software; home automation and security systems; telephones and accessories; electronic games and toys; digital audio systems; audio and video recording devices; home, mobile, and portable audio systems; cellular telephones and personal communications devices; music electronics; and home health care electronic devices.
Collaboration with IEEE
IEEE Standards Association(IEEE-SA)is a leading standard organization.
IEEE-SA and TRON Forum agreed in 2017 to start a standardization process to turn µT-Kernel 2.0 specification into an IEEE standard .
This process was started as P2050 since December 2017. After due deliberation, IEEE Std 2050-2018 has been released since August 2018 as an official IEEE Standard for a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) for Small-Scale Embedded Systems.
This standardization activity with IEEE-SA, following the sister society arrangement with IEEE Consumer Electronics Society (Today’s CTSoc) in 2016, is part of TRON Forum’s open activity with standard organizations of the world.
TRON Forum is proud of its contribution to IEEE-SA’s standard portfolio.

Standardization drives the functionality, capabilities and interoperability of a wide range of products and services that transform the way people live, work and communicate.
The IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) is an organization that facilitates standards development and standards related collaboration through IEEE. IEEE SA standardization process follows fair and democratic principles of openness, due process, balance, right of appeal, and consensus.
There are over 1,000+ active standards and over 500+ standards under development.
